Keep their paw dry
- During rainy season dogs and cats are expose to moisture which makes them susceptible to skin and paw infection.
- After every walk wash your pet’s paw with clean warm water and wipe it by using dry cloth or paper napkins.
- Use paws cream which can soothe and soften your pet’s paws and also deal with cracks , inflammation and itching.
- keep the fur between the paw-pads trimmed.
Keep their skin and fur dry and clean

Keep their ear clean
- Dogs and cats ear are more pron to infection during monsoon because of high moisture in environment. So, it become essential to clean your pet’s ear daily during monsoon.
- You can clean your Pet’s ear at home by using any ear cleaning product and cotton swab.
- For ear cleaning you can schedule appointment with vet or you can do by yourself but be careful while doing this because inside ear is very sensitive area.
Provide dry warm place and bedding in house
- Make sure your dog or cat get dry and warm place in your house. The floor and walls go really cold during monsoon so you should provide dry and warm bedding by keeping dry rugs and mattresses at different place in your house where the pet can comfortably sit or sleep.
Provide boiled water and fibre rich diet
- Chances of water borne disease are high in monsoon so, always provide clean water , boiled and cooled to avoid diarrhoea and stomach upset.
- Provide fibre rich diet by adding sweat potato, steamed green beans and fruits like muskmelons and apples to prevent constipation in your pet. Be sure not give too much as this may leads to bloating, gassy stomach, cramp and diarrhoea.
Save them from ticks
- Monsoon is the breeding season for ticks so, the chances of you pet infested with ticks and fleas are high.
- You can avoid this by using anti tick collar and oral medications.
- But always consulr your vet before giving any medicine to your pet.
Deworming before monsoon
- A lots of monsoon related illness are because of parasite so make sure you pet should dewormed before monsoon.
- Your pet should be vaccinated up to date.
