- Milk is always a controversial food. Some pet nutritionists say milk and dairy products are perfect foods, while others blame them for every canine disorder.
- Milk is higher source of calcium , Fat and lactose sugar which is very good for bone growth , teeth growth and other body function as well.
- People mostly offering cow’s or goat’s milk to dogs, Milk is safe for dogs but it always depends on amount of which you offer.
- In small quantities on occasion it cause no harm to dogs but if you offer full bowl of milk at a time or prolong period of time it will cause gastrointestinal disturbances.
- Some dogs are lactose intolerance they can not digest milk (for digestion of lactose sugar lactase enzyme is required but in few dogs deficiency of lactase make dog lactose intolerance)
Signs of lactose intolerance
> Diarrhoea
> Vomiting
> Abdominal pain
> Gas
- Sometimes pup ingest large quantity of milk cause diarrhoea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
- Milk is rich source of fat so dogs which are based on prolong period of time on milk have a risk of develop pancreatitis it is serious condition.
